Ten years of engineering went into the WaterCrest system, resulting in NASA-derived technology with no moving parts, no electricity, no salt, and no chemicals — making it as environmentally friendly as it is effective. Because it never needs to backwash, not a single drop of water goes to waste.
That same core technology powers all three primary filters — Pre-Filter, BioGuard, and ScaleInhibitor — each handling a different part of the job, together delivering clean, healthy water.
The Hanish Water PreFilter is specially designed to act in a Dual Gradient manner which enables it to filter particulates in the raw water coming into your home from at least 30 microns in size down to 1 micron in size at very high flow rates. This special Dual Gradient design helps the filter last longer and protect the BioGuard filter.
Waterborne pathogens are a leading cause of disease worldwide, and contamination of private or public water distribution systems is an increasingly important source of outbreaks. Since some microorganisms resist standard disinfection methods like chlorination and UV radiation, mechanically filtering them out is often the more reliable approach. The Hanish Water BioGuard filters are capable of retaining 99.9999% of microorganisms.
Water softeners have long been the standard fix for hard water, since alternatives like magnets and electrostatic devices haven't worked consistently. The Hanish Water ScaleInhibitor technology offers a new, chemical-free option: as calcium and magnesium ions pass through its carbon-based ceramic media, their chemistry changes so they no longer bind together and form scale. The minerals stay in your water — just without damaging your pipes, appliances, or fixtures.
Unlike most other GAC and carbon block technologies, Hanish Water P9B hollow nano-carbon achieves amazing results without the use of plastic binders. This renders all other GAC, and carbon block technologies obsolete. Each 20” cartridge can treat up to 400,000 gallons of water at a 12 gpm flow rate with less than a five pound pressure drop at peak flow rate. Combined with the unique BioGuard pretreatment technologies, our P9B carbon can last five times that amount depending on chloramine residuals. This is unparalleled performance. Our systems are modular, providing ease of upgrade and cartridge replacement in a quarter of the time with no tools necessary.

Reverse Osmosis (RO)
Reverse Osmosis systems dump billions of gallons of their highly concentrated waste streams into the environment every year!
Reverse Osmosis systems remove total dissolved solids (TDS), which is not necessarily an indication of contaminants, but rather solids in the water. When these solids are removed the water’s pH drops and it becomes acidic making it aggressive. It will eat holes in copper plumbing and this is why plumbers use plastic piping for RO systems.
Consuming reverse osmosis water for even just a few months can create serious side effects that may go unnoticed. Reverse Osmosis water is so aggressive that it can leach minerals from the body.
Consumption of reverse osmosis water can lead to the dilution of the electrolytes dissolved in your body water.

Water Softeners
Water softeners dump billions of metric tons of salt into our environment every year!
Water softeners remove all of the minerals from your water, and the removal of several essential minerals in soft water have many adverse effects, such as making the water feels slimy and slippery. This can cause you to slip on smooth surfaces like in the shower, bathtub or on the bathroom floor.
Minerals such as calcium and magnesium are essential elements needed by the body, and even though a large amount of their intake is provided through food, research suggests that even diets high in these minerals may not fully compensate for their absence in drinking water.
The absence of these minerals throws the body's state of homeostasis into imbalance, leading to increased urination, a decrease in red blood cells and even an increase in the risk of cardiovascular disease. Water softeners use sodium chloride (salt) to regenerate. Much of that salt, and potentially other chemicals used to make the salt, stays in your drinking water. Water softeners dump billions of tons of sodium chloride into the environment every year.
Additionally, chloride is highly corrosive, damaging pipes, appliances, and water heaters while potentially leaching heavy metals into the water.
